Bushido

By Richard Baier

Man patiently waits for battle

Preparing his armor, checking his weapons

No haste with important energy

Morning dew on the grass waits for the sun

For the sun shall allow it's escape

onto an incredible journey

Beyond the horizon a storm rumbles in

The warrior is constantly alert

While being quick to seize

He never allows his zeal to compromise his timing

The sword does not leave the sheath

without a clear intention to cut

When lightning strikes, the Earth rumbles

When the warrior's opportunity is clear

he leaves destruction in his path

The enemy retreats

There shall be no time to regroup

The end is swift

In the void there is thought without thinking

The sword leaves its attitude

The head falls to the ground

Before the body hits the ground

The sword is clean and resheathed

As it has a thousand times before

All is as before

The dew settles on the grass

As the sun settles in the West
